Dan Hansen participated in and helped organize an EUCI conference called “Rate Design Strategies for Meeting Regulatory Objectives” that took place in Denver, Colorado on July 22-23, 2014. Dr. Hansen conducted a pre-conference workshop that included discussions of electric vehicle pricing principles, efficient electricity pricing principles, and dynamic pricing products.

In addition to co-moderating the main conference, Dr. Hansen gave a presentation on revenue decoupling. This presentation included both a description of the concept and a summary of the independent evaluations Dr. Hansen has conducted of existing revenue decoupling mechanisms.

The conference included speakers from a number of utilities and organizations, including Xcel Energy, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Arizona Public Service, Wisconsin Public Service, Bermuda Electric Company, Commonwealth Edison, the Montana Public Service Commission, and Avista Utilities.
