Demand Response Program Design and Evaluation

CA Energy Consulting staff are nationally-renowned experts in demand response (DR) products and programs, as demonstrated by our numerous published papers, presentations, and successful rollouts. We have designed real-time and critical-peak pricing products across the country. But, in the absence of widespread adoption of dynamic retail pricing, which would provide consumers with prices that reflect conditions in wholesale energy markets, we build DR programs that mimic market signals. By offering consumers credits for reducing load below a baseline level on a limited, as-needed basis, utilities and their customers voluntarily enter into win-win agreements.

Once DR programs have been implemented, stakeholders need to know their effectiveness. CA Energy Consulting has extensive experience in evaluating the impacts of DR programs on load, revenue, and customer satisfaction.
